In heat of summer, white is always right

On a sweltering day, seeing or wearing white can remind us of snow, clouds and a season climate change in the not-too-distant future.

White has many attributes and certainly shouldn't be considered plain. It's striking on its own and a strong contrast when worn with bright hues or black. And white comes in a huge assortment of fabrics. Megaro says cotton tops his list.

"The best fabrics for the summer are those that will provide you with style and comfort during those scorching hot days," he says. "Cotton is breathable no matter what the temperature is."

Many fashion stylists and designers agree there's no need to pack away all of your white clothes when the season starts to change.

"White is a transitional color," Megaro says. "Your white blouses, scarves and structured skirts can be paired with fall plaids, neutral staples and denim. You can never go wrong with the perfect white blouse, no matter what time of year."
