Philly's Zach Makovsky will fight Jussier Formiga in a flyweight matchup at UFC 176, philly.com has learned.
Makovsky, a graduate of Drexel University, is the ninth-ranked flyweight fighter with a career record of 18-4 and is riding a four-fight win streak.
This will be his third bout in the UFC and will try to remain undefeated. His last two wins came against Scott Jorgensen at UFC on Fox: Johnson vs. Benavidez 2 on Dec. 14 and Josh Sampo at UFC 170 on Feb. 22. Both wins were by unanimous decision.
The sixth-ranked flyweight Formiga has a career record of 16-3 and is 2-2 in the UFC.
UFC 176 is scheduled for August 2nd at Staples Center in Los Angeles. The event is headlined by featherweight champion Jose Aldo, who will defend against Chad Mendes.
