Touch 'Em All: Cabrera impresses in loss

How good is the Tigers' Miguel Cabrera? So good that the other team's players are fans. The 2012 AL Triple Crown winner hit three home runs in the Detroit's 11-8 loss to Texas on Sunday night.

How good is the Tigers' Miguel Cabrera?

So good that the other team's players are fans.

The 2012 AL Triple Crown winner hit three home runs in the Detroit's 11-8 loss to Texas on Sunday night.

Rangers outfielder David Murphy was impressed.

"Big game, fun game, national TV," he said. "We got to witness the best hitter in the game hit three homers."

Probably helped that Murphy had a three-run dinger of his own in the sixth - though that one barely cleared the wall.

Nice to see you, too. Former Blue Jays shortstop Yunel Escobar, now playing for Tampa Bay, drew some boos from the Toronto crowd after hitting a two-run home run in the ninth off Casey Janssen on Monday. It left the Rays down 7-5, with two outs, and made the Rogers Centre crowd a bit apprehensive.

Escobar showed his appreciation of the welcome by making a safe sign as he crossed the plate, winding up those notoriously hot-tempered Canadian fans even more.

Expert pro wrestling heel Rowdy Roddy Piper couldn't have done it better.

Phormer Phillies Phile. MLB.com reports that Roy Oswalt is well on his way to the Colorado Rockies rotation, striking out nine with no walks in five innings in an extended spring game in Arizona on Sunday.

Next stop for the 35-year-old is double-A Tulsa.
