Plans set for And1 hoops tournament
A $100,000 prize is being offered for the 12-team event, to be held at the Liacouras Center.
THE AND1 SUMMER Remix basketball tournament will be held at the Liacouras Center from Aug. 29 to Sept. 1.
The event will be for 12 teams and will be a $100,000 winner-take-all tourney.
Tryouts will be held across the country for the teams, who are expected to include pro players and streetball legends.
"This event will celebrate our roots in Philadelphia, featuring high level basketball and incorporating music to give our fans what they've been missing these past few years," AND1 marketing director Maurice Levy said.
AND1, a shoe and apparel company, was launched in Philadephia in 1993.
