Manny may be coming back, but his dreadlocks are taking a holiday.

The Texas Rangers agreed Wednesday on a minor-league deal with Ramirez, 41, last seen with Taiwan's EDA Rhinos.

He hit .352 with eight home runs and 43 RBIs in 49 games with the Rhinos, who offered to raise his salary from $25,000 to $60,000 to get him to stay.

Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said part of the deal was that Ramirez, twice suspended for positive drug tests, agree to cut his hair. (Yeah, that'll do it.)

Cuddyer's no-hitter. The Colorado Rockies' Michael Cuddyer went 0 for 4 against the Los Angeles Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw Tuesday, ending his hitting streak at 27 games.

Now that he can alter his routine, he can get a haircut and shave. (Good thing he doesn't play for the Rangers.)

Name game. Before the San Francisco Giants were no-hit by Homer Bailey of the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday, they were shut down three times by guys named Kevin: Gross (Dodgers, 1992), Brown (Marlins, 1997) and Millwood (Phillies, 2003).

Now their task is easier: avoid guys named Homer.

It's the pants. Toronto's Jose Bautista told ESPN why he has hit .615 with three homers in his last four games: He's wearing R.A. Dickey's pants. (R.A. won't miss them until he pitches.)
