NFL: Redskins cut Donte Stallworth

Donte Stallworth was cut Monday by the Washington Redskins, thwarting the veteran receiver's comeback. The 32-year-old onetime Eagle was hindered in training camp by a hamstring injury. He caught two passes for 33 yards in preseason games.

Donte Stallworth was cut Monday by the Washington Redskins, thwarting the veteran receiver's comeback.

The 32-year-old onetime Eagle was hindered in training camp by a hamstring injury. He caught two passes for 33 yards in preseason games.

Jets' QB dilemma

The New York Jets need to solve their quarterback problem.

Geno Smith was dismal Saturday against the New York Giants, throwing three interceptions and taking a safety when he stepped out of the back of the end zone.

Ex-Titan arrested

Former Tennessee linebacker Keith Bulluck was replaced as a TV analyst for the Titans' preseason finale after his arrest on a felony robbery charge.

Penn State alum Kerry Collins, who spent five seasons with the Titans, was listed in the team's notes as the analyst for Thursday night's game at Minnesota.

A cab driver accused Bulluck of taking a $100 bill. Bulluck called the incident a misunderstanding in which he took back money when he didn't get service he wanted.

Redskins need punter

Washington Redskins punter Richard Crawford is done for the year with three damaged ligaments in his left knee.

Saints' Smith out

New Orleans outside linebacker Will Smith, one of the Saints' top pass-rushers, has a knee injury that will sideline him for the 2013 season.

Mundy starts for Giants

Ryan Mundy will start at free safety for the Giants because Stevie Brown has a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Cuts and trades

The Jets cut running back Joe McKnight and receiver Braylon Edwards.

The Browns released receiver Jordan Norwood.

Linebacker Parys Haralson said he was traded by San Francisco but gave no details.

Suspensions

The NFL suspended Minnesota fullback Jerome Felton for three games and Jets running back Mike Goodson for four games for violating the league's policy on substance abuse.

Injury report

Cleveland placed running back Dion Lewis on season-ending injured reserve with a surgically repaired broken leg.

Buffalo cornerback Stephon Gilmore will miss six to eight weeks because of a broken left wrist.
