Elsewhere: The game between the San Antonio Spurs and Minnesota Timberwolves was postponed Wednesday night because of smoky conditions inside the Mexico City arena. The arena was evacuated about 45 minutes before the scheduled tipoff when a generator malfunction outside the arena sent smoke pouring into the building, according to an NBA spokeswoman. . . . Kyrie Irving scored 23 points and the host Cavaliers snapped the Denver Nuggets' seven-game winning streak with a 98-88 victory. . . . It's been a tough week for former Kentucky stars and top 2012 NBA draft picks Anthony Davis and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.
The Bobcats announced that Kidd-Gilchrist will be sidelined four to six weeks with a broken left hand, an eerily similar injury to what Davis suffered earlier this week. Kidd-Gilchrist, a native of Somerdale, N.J., was the No. 2 pick in the 2012 draft.
