It took weeks to settle the matter, but Franklin Towne Charter finally found the run it needed to top Prep Charter, 13-12, Thursday in a Public League Division A baseball game.

It took weeks to settle the matter, but Franklin Towne Charter finally found the run it needed to top Prep Charter, 13-12, Thursday in a Public League Division A baseball game.

The game began on April 8 and was called after eight innings, tied at 12, because of darkness. It resumed Thursday, and the teams put up zeroes until Phil Gilchrist hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th. Gilchrist went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and walked twice.

Chris Hammerstein struck out six in three innings to earn the win.

Tri-County semifinals. Barrack Hebrew rallied for eight runs in the last three innings to stun visiting Renaissance Academy, 14-13. Sam Falkowitz's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh drove in Joel Belfer, who had tripled to lead off, with the winning run. Belfer also had a two-run triple in the fifth. Falkowitz allowed one run in 42/3 innings to earn the win in relief.

Maquan Holden and Tom Aaron had two-run doubles, and Perkiomen School downed Collegium Charter, 7-4.

Suburban One Continental. Dave Tatoian went 2 for 5 with two RBIs and a run scored, and Pennridge topped host Central Bucks East, 6-4.

Suburban One American. Dan Jacobson went eight innings, striking out seven and allowing two hits, as host Upper Dublin topped Plymouth Whitemarsh, 1-0. Thomas Juelke drove in the only run.

Catholic Red. Four La Salle pitchers combined on a 5-0 shutout at Roman Catholic. Anthony Morabito, James Dougherty, Jimmy Herron, and Joe Krol combined to allow four hits. Herron went 2 for 3 with two doubles and an RBI, and Adam Arcadia was 3 for 4 with an RBI.

Lacrosse

Kevin Todd scored four goals, and Spring-Ford rolled to its fifth straight Pioneer Athletic Conference championship by beating visiting Owen J. Roberts, 15-8. Alec Orcutt and Alex Marte scored three goals each. Matt Messerle made 19 saves.

Ches-Mont National. Alex Ataiifar made 10 saves to preserve Downingtown West's 7-4 win at West Chester Henderson.

Catholic League. Trent Melsheimer netted three goals, and Brett Baskin, Christopher Hladczuk, and Mitch Soufleris each had two as La Salle doubled up host Archbishop Wood, 12-6.

Shane Taylor pumped in four goals, and Archbishop Ryan downed visiting Father Judge, 12-7. Anthony Caputo, John Ligori, and Austin Slawter scored two apiece.

Nonleague. Will Ohley's six goals paced Strath Haven in a 19-8 victory at Upper Merion.

Brock Anderson and Lou Harrison tallied two goals each, and Ridley cruised to an 8-1 win at Plymouth Whitemarsh.

Tennis

Central won its eighth consecutive Public League title, downing Masterman, 5-0, at Lincoln.

Ivan Dokov, Tyrel Cherry, and Avery Mitchell combined to drop just one set in singles play. The doubles teams of Richard Kim and Jason Taing and Trevor Valentine and Gary Guseltsev won without losing a set.
