After her Burlington City team strung together a series of hits to score three runs in the first inning, Brielle Morichetti shut down any attempt Holy Cross would make to get back in the game.

Morichetti struck out 12 in a two-hit performance on Thursday, shutting out the Lancers to win, 3-0, at home. At the plate, Morichetti added a hit and an RBI in three plate appearances.

Victoria Wadja also contributed at the plate in the win, knocking in a run in the first inning on her only hit in the Burlington County Freedom matchup.

Olympic American. Lindsey Manera pitched a complete game on the road, striking out five and giving up seven hits as Lenape defeated Eastern, 2-1.

Lenape took the lead with a run in the fifth inning and held on to win.

Cape-Atlantic American. Heather Visco and Skylar Wylie each doubled twice to hoist Hammonton over Oakcrest in eight innings, 10-9.

Visco also homered, as part of a four-run seventh inning. Kimmie Hellyer earned the win in the circle for Hammonton at home.

Cape-Atlantic National. Jackie Delong struck out 10 from the circle in Wildwood Catholic's 4-1 win over Ocean City.

The visiting Crusaders strung together two hits to score three runs in the second inning and take the lead, and they never looked back, with Delong pitching a three-hitter.

In other Cape National action:

Middle Township took down host Lower Cape May, 15-3. The Panthers' Tori Sittineri struck out five to earn the win. Taylor Franchville was 2 for 3 with three runs scored for Middle Township.

Jenna Montana earned the win in the circle for Bridgeton in a 14-2 victory over Cape May Tech. Montana was 3 for 4 at the plate with two runs and two RBIs. The visiting Bulldogs scored six in the fourth and four in the fifth to get the win in five innings.

Colonial. Haddon Township's Jillian Caputo and Brie Lynch combined to no-hit Paulsboro at home, 10-0, for Caputo's first varsity win.

Kaitlyn Stoltz was 3 for 3 with two triples and a home run for the Hawks.

Nonleague. Rachel Taylor hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning to give Northern Burlington the lead over Cherry Hill West. Precious Williams held the hosts to only three hits to secure the victory, 4-1.

Allison McCarthy went 3 for 4 with two RBIs, a double, and a triple to help lift Gloucester Catholic over Schalick, 9-2. Anna Robinson homered in the Rams' nine-hit effort.

Lacrosse

Rachel Ceplo scored 10 goals, and host Delran took a three-goal halftime lead en route to a 17-15 triumph over Cherry Hill East in a nonleague game.

Cait Cauley, Hannah Hamblin, and Gabby Sousa each scored two goals for Delran.

Olympic American. Gabby Fornia scored seven goals, Natalie Peel had four, and Nicole Donnelly deposited three as Lenape rolled at home over Cherokee, 17-4, and completed a sweep of its eight conference games.
