Marbury appears in musical in China
Two-time NBA All-Star Stephon Marbury, who now plays for the Beijing Ducks, is starring in a production about himself.

WHEN WE first heard Stephon Marbury was starring in a musical in China titled "I Am Marbury," we briefly morphed into Tom McGinnis and let go with a lusty, "Are you kidding me?"
The 37-year-old Marbury, it seems, is a megastar in China. Bigger than Jerry Lewis in France or David Hasselhoff in Germany.
Heck, there's even a statue of the two-time NBA All-Star outside the MasterCard Center in Beijing where he led the Ducks to the Chinese Basketball Association title in March.
The musical, which opened last night in Beijing and runs 11 days, is sold out for the first three shows.
A different special guest will appear at each performance, including former NBA All-Star Yao Ming. How much you wanna bet the former Ron Artest/Metta World Peace/Pandas Friend - who plays for the CBA's Sichuan Blue Whales- makes a cameo?
The New Republic's Christopher Beam reported that Marbury doesn't get much face time but eventually delivers a soliloquy about himself:
"I am Marbury," he says. "You are Marbury. We are all connected. I am a champion. You are a champion. But it was all yesterday. We will never stop working hard. We will never be satisfied. We will always keep moving on."
Pretty deep. Here's hoping Dennis Rodman stops by on his way to North Korea.
LeBron inspiring
LeBron James is looking to score a hit with kids with a half-hour TV series he's co-producing titled "Becoming."
The show will chronicle the inspirational life stories of some of today's top athletes.
The pilot, which will air on Oct. 26 on Disney XD, will feature James, who reveals he was inspired by Allen Iverson, Michael Jordan and Deion Sanders.
It also includes seldom-seen footage of James playing at St. Vincent High-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio.
