Soul get late TD to take opener

ORLANDO, Fla. - Quarterback Dan Raudabaugh hit Ryan McDaniel for a 6-yard touchdown with 12 seconds left to help the Soul to a 70-63 win over the host Orlando Predators in the season opener for both teams Sunday.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pounder out of Miami also hit McDaniel for a score of 17 yards in the first quarter.

He hit Marko Thomas with touchdown passes of 28 yards in the first quarter, 11 yards in the third and 19 yards in the fourth.

Raudabaugh also hooked up with Shaun Kauleinamoku for touchdowns of 21 yards in the second quarter and 25 in the third.

Xavier Boyce added a 1-yard rushing touchdown.

The Soul scored a defensive touchdown when James Romain returned an interception 30 yards.

Predators QB Randy Hippeard threw for eight touchdowns in a losing cause

The Soul return to action at 10 p.m. Saturday at the Spokane Shock.
