Drexel falls to Div. II team in Alaska

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Sekou Wiggs scored 33 points and Division II Alaska Anchorage beat Drexel, 71-65, Friday in the Great Alaska Shootout.

Wiggs, a junior who played at Idaho last season, was 11 for 27 overall and 7 for 17 from beyond the arc. He has scored 35 and 33 points in two games since the transfer.

Drexel (0-5) was led by Sammy Mojica's 20 points and six assists. Tavon Allen had 16 points and Rashann London added 11.

Alaska Anchorage (1-1) scored the first 10 points of the game as Wiggs made a pair of three-pointers. Drexel took a brief lead with 3:47 left in the half on Mojica's three-pointer, but Spencer Svejcar's trey put Anchorage up, 40-36, at intermission.

London's layup with 1:04 to go made it a four-point game again, but Drexel missed consecutive threes down the stretch and Anchorage held on.
