Eagles cut WR Gasperson, sign CB Davis

The Eagles announced Wednesday afternoon that they have signed cornerback Tanard Davis from the Carolina Panthers' practice squad, and released wide receiver Michael Gasperson in order to make room on the active roster.

Davis played collegiately at the University of Miami, and was signed as an undrafted rookie by Indianapolis in 2006. He was released by the Colts but re-signed to their practice squad in 2006, then released again and picked up by Carolina.

The 5-foot-9, 184-pound Miami native also ran track for the Hurricanes. He was assigned jersey number 41 by the Eagles.
