Gasol says he is doubtful for Sunday's game against the 76ers
WASHINGTON -- Los Angeles Lakers forward-center Pau Gasol said that it is doubtful that he will play in Sunday's game at the Wells Fargo Center against the 76ers.
Speaking before the Lakers game at the Verizon Center on Friday against the Washington Wizards, Gasol says he is making progress with tendinitis in both knees.
Friday was the seventh consecutive game that he missed.
"My knees feels better,"said Gasol, who is listed as day to day.
Entering Friday, the Lakers were 1-5 with Gasol out of the lineup.
A four-time NBA all-star, Gasol has struggled this season and has been the subject of trade rumors. He is averaging 12.6 points and 8.8 rebounds.
In addition, point guard Steve Nash remains out indefinitely since suffering a non-displaced fracture of his left leg in the second game of the season.
Nash has begun some light running and said if all went well he'd like to be able to practice sometime next week.
