Galvis rides again

Freddy Galvis was rewarded for his game-winning home run on Sunday with his second straight start on Monday in Miami.

In a ballpark filled with smiles on Sunday, when an retched, deflating, would-be defeat turned into jubilant victory on two ninth-inning swings, Freddy Galvis wore the biggest grin of all.

All the pint-sized, 23-year-old utility player did was rip a walk-off home run off of quite possibly the most intimdating and talented reliever in baseball. Galvis homering off Aroldis Chapman is right up there with the top highlights for Phillies fans in an otherwise dull first seven weeks of the season.

Galvis was rewarded for his heroics on Sunday with his second straight start at third base on Monday in Miami. Michael Young, the team's regular starting third baseman, is at first base once again.

We're still awaiting MRI results from Philly, where both Ryan Howard (knee) and Carlos Ruiz (hamstring) were getting tested. Neither traveled with the team today.

A roster move is expected as Humberto Quintero is in Miami and will likely be added to the roster to give the Phils a second catcher.

Another move the Phils could make to open up that spot: put set-up man Mike Adams on the DL (he hasn't pitched since two Fridays ago because of back spasms).

PHILLIES:

1. Jimmy Rollins, SS

2. Ben Revere, CF

3. Chase Utley, 2B

4. Michael Young, 1B

5. Domonic Brown, LF

6. Delmon Young, RF

7. Freddy Galvis, 3B

8. Erik Kratz, C

9. Cole Hamels, P

Regardless of the roster moves that are incoming, Galvis is making a bid for more regular playing time. He's hitting .298 with an .864 OPS overall.

In 12 starts, Galvis is batting .311 with a .367 OBP, two home runs, two doubles and 22 total bases.
