Just a few blocks north of the shuttered Blue Horizon, major professional boxing will return to North Philadelphia on Dec. 8 when heavyweight Bryant Jennings headlines a card at Temple University's Performing Arts Center.

The 28-year-old Jennings (15-0, seven knockouts) does not have an opponent yet for the match that will be televised live on NBC Sports Network. Jennings, of North Philadelphia, is the U.S. Boxing Association heavyweight champion. He needed just 35 seconds to knock out Chris Koval this month.

This will be Temple's first boxing card since Bernard Hopkins beat Enrique Ornelas at the Liacouras Center in December 2009.

Hart heading to Vegas. North Philadelphia's Jesse Hart will meet an unnamed opponent on the undercard Nov. 10 at the Wynn Las Vegas casino.

The card will be televised on HBO. A super middleweight, Hart (3-0, three KOs) debuted in June with a 33-second knockout of Manuel Eastman in Las Vegas. He stopped Lekan Byfield in 28 seconds on Sept. 14.

On Rosado's docket. Doc Nowicki, who advises Gabriel Rosado along with promoter Russell Peltz, said he was serious about trying to get Rosado a fight with Mexico's Canelo Alavarez.

Rosado (21-5, 13 KOs) is the mandatory No. 1 contender for Cornelius Bundrage's International Boxing Federation light-middleweight title, but the 26-year-old from North Philly can fight before his title shot. Alvarez (41-0, 30 KOs) is one of the premier fighters at 147 pounds.
