The Owls then beat St. Louis, 74-64, in an uneven performance in an Atlantic Ten game that kept Temple tied for first place in the conference with No. 8 George Washington.

Other than a 2-2 tie after Temple's first basket, coach Dawn Staley's squad led St. Louis (11-14, 3-8) the entire game. The lead was 52-30 with 13 minutes, 30 seconds remaining.

Ballhandling was a problem, however. Temple (21-5, 11-0) had 29 turnovers.

"Our kids weren't ready to play for 40 minutes, and we'll have to take care of that," Staley said. ". . . It's plain and simple. Twenty-nine turnovers are atrocious."

Hairston, who is among the conference leaders in rebounding and scoring, had 18 points. Lady Comfort added 10 points for Temple.

St. Joseph's 76, St. Bonaventure 67 - Ayahna Cornish scored a career-high 29 points to lead the host Hawks (13-13, 3-8 A-10) over the Bonnies.

Hofstra 61, Drexel 52 - After trailing by as much as 25 points in the second half, the Dragons (6-19, 1-13 Colonial Athletic Association) cut the lead to nine before falling to Hofstra (19-6, 9-5) in Hempstead, N.Y.

Philadelphia U. 79, Georgian Court 63 - Freshman Jessica Romano scored 18 points to help the Rams (17-7, 15-5 Central Atlantic Athletic Conference) beat the visiting Lions and clinch a first-round home game in the CAAC tournament.

Freshman Jamee Bush led all scorers with 20 points for the Lions (5-19, 3-16).

Holy Family 79, Goldey-Beacom 68 - Kelly Killion scored a game-high 27 points as the Tigers (22-2, 19-0 CACC) defeated the visiting Lightning (15-10, 12-8 CACC).

Megan Bauer had 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Tigers, while Toni Jones had 22 points and 12 rebounds for the Lightning.

College of New Jersey 71, Rutgers-Camden 52 - Hillary Klimowicz collected 16 points, going 6 for 9 from the floor, to lead the Lions (12-13, 7-6 New Jersey Athletic Conference) to victory. Imani Hafiz scored 16 for the visiting Scarlet Raptors (8-16, 2-10).

Duke 73, Boston College 52 - Freshman Bridgette Mitchell scored a season-high 20 points to lead top-ranked Duke (27-0, 12-0 Atlantic Coast Conference)past Boston College (12-13, 2-9) in Durham, N.C.

Tennessee 81, Mississippi 69 - Candace Parker had 25 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, and third-ranked Tennessee (24-2, 11-0 Southeastern Conference) beat Mississippi (19-8, 8-4) in Knoxville, Tenn.

Ohio State 83, Wisconsin 57 - Jessica Davenport hit her average with 19 points and Ashlee Trebilcock scored 15 to lead No. 4 Ohio State (24-1, 13-0 Big Ten) past Wisconsin (18-9, 7-7) in Columbus, Ohio.

LSU 86, Arkansas 65 - Sylvia Fowles had 23 points and 20 rebounds, and No. 7 LSU ( 23-4, 9-2 Southeastern Conference) went on a 24-0 run in the second half to beat host Arkansas (18-9, 3-8) in Fayetteville, Ark.

George Washington 64, Charlotte 59 - Sarah-Jo Lawrence scored 16 points, Jessica Adair added 14 points and 14 rebounds, and No. 8 George Washington (22-2, 11-0 Atlantic Ten) topped host Charlotte (17-9, 8-3).

Georgia 82, Kentucky 72 - Tasha Humphrey had a game-high 28 points and 10 rebounds as No. 11 Georgia (22-5, 9-3 Southeastern Conference) survived with an overtime victory against Kentucky (16-11, 5-7) in Lexington, Ky.

Vanderbilt 84, Mississippi St. 64 - Caroline Williams scored 24 points and No. 12 Vanderbilt (22-4, 8-3 Southeastern Conference) dominated the first half to take a victory over Mississippi State (16-10, 6-5) in Starkville, Miss.

Middle Tennessee 66, Florida International 59 - Chrissy Givens scored 17 points to lead No. 17 Middle Tennessee (24-3, 16-0 Sun Belt) over Florida International in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

Purdue 59, Michigan 54 - Katie Gearlds scored 21 points and Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton added 19, leading No. 16 Purdue (22-5, 11-2 Big Ten) over Michigan (10-16, 3-10) in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Michigan State 68, Northwestern 63 - Victoria Lucas-Perry had 19 of her 25 points in the first half and No. 24 Michigan State (20-6, 11-2 Big Ten) held on to beat Northwestern (7-20, 1-13) in East Lansing, Mich.
