Rutgers manhandles Army, 27-10

It was the sixth straight victory for Rutgers (5-2) over Army (3-5) and evened the series at 18-all. The Black Knights have lost 12 straight games against Big East teams since beating Rutgers, 37-35, in 1997.

Tom Savage finished 10 of 20 for 164 yards to become just the second freshman quarterback in Rutgers history to win a road game.

NCAA under orders. A judge has given the NCAA until 2 p.m. Wednesday to release its original documents on academic cheating at Florida State.

Yesterday's decision by Circuit Judge John Cooper in Tallahassee gives the organization more time to seek an order from the Florida Supreme Court to block the release.

Manlove honored. Former Widener coach Bill Manlove will be inducted tonight into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in Wyomissing, Berks County.

Manlove coached the Pride for 23 seasons (1969-91), guiding them to two NCAA Division III titles (1977, 1981), seven NCAA tournaments, and four unbeaten seasons.

He is Widener's winningest coach with a record of 182-53-1 (a .773 winning percentage).

UConn slaying. Connecticut officials are warning an online T-shirt retailer to stop selling items featuring slain Connecticut football player Jasper Howard or face a lawsuit.

Attorney General Richard Blumenthal said that Game Day Tease is using UConn logos and images from its Web site without permission to sell items purporting to raise money for Howard's family.

Blumenthal said that the company based in Presto, Pa., near Pittsburgh, never registered any fund-raising efforts with state agencies as required, and called it a "shameful and unlawful exploitation of Jasper Howard's tragic death for commercial purposes."

The investigation into Howard's death continues.

The Huskies are in Morgantown, W.Va., today to play a Big East Conference game against No. 22 West Virginia.

Mountaineers quarterback Jarrett Brown is expected to start, ESPN.com reported, citing two sources close to the situation. Brown suffered a mild concussion last week that knocked him out of the game against Marshall.

Florida defense ailing. Second-ranked Florida could be without three defensive starters tonight against Mississippi State.

Coach Urban Meyer said he didn't know whether linebacker Brandon Spikes (left groin) and defensive tackles Jaye Howard (knee), and Lawrence Marsh (ankle) would play in Starkville, Miss.
