College Basketball: Izzo sets record for wins as Michigan State rolls

Izzo set the record the same week mentor and predecessor Jud Heathcote was inducted into the National Collegiate Hall of Fame.
Izzo had already matched him with one national championship apiece. He now stands alone atop the Spartans' win list with a 341-138 record in his 15th season.
Chris Allen led the Spartans (5-1) with 18 points. UMass fell to 2-4.
Florida 73, Rutgers 58 - Kenny Boynton scored 19 points and Vernon Macklin had 14 to lead the Gators (6-0) over Rutgers (3-2) in the championship of the Legends Classic in Atlantic City.
"We've got a very inexperienced team and that showed tonight in stretches," Rutgers coach Fred Hill said.
UNLV 76, Louisville 71 - Oscar Bellfield scored 17 points and Tre'Von Willis scored 16 as the Rebels (5-0) upset the No. 16 Cardinals (4-1) in Las Vegas.
Edgar Sosa led Louisville with 18 points.
Bradley 72, Illinois 68 - Andrew Warren scored 16 points to lead five players in double figures as the Braves (4-2) upset the No. 20 Illini (4-2) for third place in the Las Vegas Invitational. Mike Davis scored 17 points for Illinois.
Purdue 64, Central Michigan 38 - In West Lafayette, Ind., the No. 6 Boilermakers' staunch defense was too good for the visiting Chippewas.
E'Twaun Moore scored 15 points and Robbie Hummel had 11 points and 11 rebounds for Purdue (5-0). Finis Craddock had 8 points for Central Michigan (2-4).
Ohio State 110, St. Francis, Pa. 47 - In Columbus, Ohio, Jon Diebler hit five three-pointers to get the No. 17 Buckeyes (5-1) off to a fast start as they coasted past the Red Flash (1-5).
Diebler scored 15 of his 17 points during the quick start.
Georgetown 97, Lafayette 64 - Jason Clark had a career-high 19 points, freshman Hollis Thompson had 16, and the No. 18 Hoyas (4-0) routed the leopards (4-2) in Washington.
Lafayette's Jared Mintz scored 16 points.
Notre Dame 64, St. Louis 52 - Luke Harangody scored 14 of his 18 points in the second half, and the No. 23 Irish (6-1) bounced back from a poor outing against Northwestern to beat the Billikens (4-2) for third place in the Chicago Invitational Challenge.
Oklahoma 81, Nicholls State 60 - Cade Davis scored 18 points and the No. 25 Sooners (30-3) ended a three-game skid with the victory over the Colonels (0-8) in the Great Alaska Shootout in Anchorage.
Oregon State 64, George Washington 57 - Seth Tarver scored 18 points and the Beavers (2-3) beat the Colonials (4-1), with President Obama and his family watching from courtside in the half-full Smith Center in Washington.
Obama's brother-in-law, Craig Robinson, is the Oregon State coach, and the president brought along first lady Michelle Obama, daughters Malia and Sasha, and mother-in-law Marian Robinson.
Pittsburgh 72, Youngstown State 56 - Ashton Gibbs scored eight of his 14 points during a 10-0 run midway through the second half, and host Pittsburgh (5-1) pulled away for the win.
Roman grad Brad Wanamaker also scored 14 for Pitt.
The Penguins (3-3) were led by Kelvin Bright's 20 points.
Rutgers-Camden 92, Penn State-Brandywine 60 - The Scarlet Raptors (3-0) are off to their second-best start in history, tying the 1964-65 team, after Tarik Hanton scored 15 points and Shawn Greene scored 14 in Camden. The best start was 5-0 in 1974-75. T.J. Hazinsky scored 15 points for the Nittany Lions (0-2).
Elsewhere: Siena routed Brown, 99-79, at the Palestra behind 19 points and 11 assists from Plymouth Whitemarsh grad Ronald Moore and 23 points from Cherokee product Clarence Jackson. . . . Jawan Carter of Delaware led all scorers with 23 points, but the Blue Hens fell to Virginia Tech, 74-66, at the Palestra.
Russell Fredericks scored 24 points for Philadelphia University in a 68-41 loss to Millersville. . . . Lenape grad Ryan Thompson led all scorers with 21 points to help Rider defeat visiting Binghamton, 58-50.
