Senior quarterback Pat Devlin, the transfer from Penn State, went 14-for-23 for 163 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Blue Hens, ranked No. 16 in the Division I-AA polls. Devlin was a former Pennsylvania state high school football player of the year while at Downingtown East.
Delaware freshman halfback Andrew Pierce carried the ball 13 times for 119 yards and a touchdown.
It was a tough night for West Chester quarterback Mike Mattei. He was 9-for-20 for 68 yards and was intercepted three times. Golden Rams return man Jackson Fagan (Pennsbury ) ran the opening kickoff back 44 yards, a career high.
