Ohio State's loss to Wisconsin left room for Oregon and Boise State to move to Nos. 1 and 2 in the AP and USA Today polls, but Oklahoma used a 52-0 rout of Iowa State to win No. 1 with the computers and the top overall position.

But the first poll rarely matters - just once have the top two teams in the first standings met in the title game (Texas vs. USC in '05). The initial No. 1 has reached the title game in just six of 12 years.

Rutgers tragedy. There has not been much medical news about Rutgers defensive tackle Eric LeGrand since the university announced he suffered a spinal cord injury while making a tackle Saturday on a kickoff return.

Coach Greg Schiano said Monday that he will refrain from giving daily medical updates but will provide information when appropriate. He would not directly comment when asked if LeGrand has experienced any feelings in his extremities or moved any toes or fingers since the injury.

Calling Eugene Lipscomb. Go Daddy, the website hosting provider, is sponsoring its very own college football bowl game, the GoDaddy.com Bowl. Go Daddy is taking over what had been known as the GMAC Bowl. It will pit Mid-American and Sun Belt Conference teams against each other in Mobile, Ala., Jan. 6.

Kudos for Owl, Quaker. Temple junior defensive end Adrian Robinson has earned the Mid-American Conference Specialist of the Week honor for the East division. . . . Penn safety Matt Hamscher won the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week award.

Hens get to crow. Delaware has just one school in front of it in the Sports Network Division I FCS Poll. The Blue Hens moved up to No. 2, with Appalachian State ahead.
