Belton, who also played quarterback in high school, gave his commitment during a home visit from Nittany Lions assistant coach Mike McQueary. He also is expected to see some time as a nickelback, but primarily will be a slot receiver. As a senior, he threw for 2,167 yards, ran for 1,003 yards and scored a combined 34 touchdowns.
He had originally committed to Pittsburgh, but changed his mind last month when coach Dave Wannstedt was forced to resign. He chose Penn State over West Virginia and Cincinnati. Belton, 5-9, 191, is ranked as the eighth-best player in New Jersey by Rivals.com. He becomes the 14th player to commit to Penn State.
