Temple's Allen to play in Reese's College All-Star Game

Temple's Lavoy Allen has been named to the East team for the Reese's College All-Star Game tomorrow in Houston as part of Final Four weekend.

Temple's Lavoy Allen has been named to the East team for the Reese's College All-Star Game tomorrow in Houston as part of Final Four weekend.

Pittsburgh's Brad Wanamaker, a Roman Catholic High product, also will play for the East team, coached by Bill Foster.

The game airs at 5:30 p.m. on TruTv.

Rosters were selected by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

Allen finished his senior season with 11.6 points and 8.6 rebounds for the Owls. Wanamaker averaged 11.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists for the Panthers.

Joining Allen and Wanamaker on the East are: Dwight Hardy (St. John's), Chris Warren (Mississippi), Austin Freeman (Georgetown), Mike Davis (Illinois), Gary McGhee (Pittsburgh), Jacob Pullen (Kansas State), Vlad Moldoveanu (American) and Jimmy Butler (Marquette). Foster coached Duke, which included West Philadelphia High's Gene Banks, to the 1978 NCAA title game.

On the West team are: Andrew Goudelock (College of Charleston), Tai Wesley (Utah State), Kenneth Faried (Morehead State), Kalin Lucas (Michigan State) Malcolm Thomas (San Diego State), Tristan Thompson (North Texas), Alex Stepheson (USC), Mickey McConnell (St. Mary's), Cameron Jones (Northern Arizona) and Gary Johnson (Texas). The West is coached by Billy Tubbs, who led Oklahoma to the 1988 NCAA title game. *
