FOR ABOUT A DECADE, Blair Thomas has been involved as a consultant with eMMortal Enterprises, which produces eMMortal Magnesium Therapy, a transdermal treatment that promotes natural healing.

"Growing up, if you were sore, Mom always used to say, 'Go soak in epsom salts,' " he said. "This is a medical-grade version of it, which is much higher concentration and better quality."

Nine NFL teams, including the Eagles, have already tried it. So have some college teams, including Temple, where Thomas was an assistant coach for eight seasons. He and owner Dave Ritting also are trying to market eMt, which was formerly known as Power Over Pain, to local chiropractors, training facilities and wellness centers.

"The difference is, a lot of the competition puts menthol in there," Thomas said. "That gives you the illusion that you're getting some type of soothing effort. There's none in ours.

"Anything that's green grows outside. In the center of that molecule is magnesium sulfate. That's how vital it is to daily life. You can Google it. When I speak about it, I'm not trying to sell anybody anything. I'm trying to inform them of what they should be doing, because it is so essential. Without a doubt.

"For the last 6 years, I've been training kids all over the country. I take this product with me. I know by the second day they're going to be sore. So I spray them down. They're like, 'Coach, what's that?' We've tested this thing on many athletes, accident victims, people with just normal daily aches and pains or the normal aging process. The results are unbelievable."

He even believes it helped him survive his recent health episodes.

"I've been using it for years," Thomas said. "Magnesium relaxes the heart. The heart is a muscle. So if I didn't have a certain amount of this in my system, who knows how bad it could've been?"
