Moore misfired on his first two throws but was nearly perfect after that, connecting on 32 of 42 passes. His fourth touchdown throw, a 12-yard strike to tight end Kyle Efaw, put the Broncos up by 27-9 midway through the third quarter.

Orange take on Trojans. Syracuse football players haven't set foot in the storied Coliseum since 1924. Perhaps the Orange are just waiting for an ideal opportunity to knock off a perennial college football power.

Syracuse (2-0) could land a program-defining victory Saturday night in its first visit to California since 1968 against the Trojans (2-0).

"They have a really good passing game, and they're playing extremely well," USC coach Lane Kiffin said of the Orange. "We're going to have our hands full."

Syracuse quarterback Ryan Nassib, a Malvern Prep product, "can throw the ball 60 yards downfield on the run, so we can't be complacent," USC safety T.J. McDonald said.

"Regardless of who comes into the Coliseum, we've got to protect it. We respect every team we play, even when we don't play them very often."

LSU quarterback clarifies role in fight. A motion filed for suspended LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson contends several alleged victims in a bar brawl involving Tigers players incited the melee with a racial slur and that Jefferson's only role in the fight was to pull teammates away.

Mississippi State's Smith is out. Mississippi State starting guard Tobias Smith is out for the season after tearing ligaments in his left knee during Thursday's 19-6 loss to LSU.

The No. 3 Tigers finished off No. 25 Mississippi State at Davis Wade Stadium, using its trademark running game and defense to slowly grind the Bulldogs into submission.
