College Basketball: Lafayette surprises Penn State

Nick Petkovick added 13 points off the bench for the Leopards (4-5), who hit nine three-pointers and stymied Penn State's offense. The Leopards led by as many as 10 in the second.

The Nittany Lions (6-4) shot just 33 percent (19 of 58) including a 3-of-23 performance from beyond the three-point arc. Jermaine Marshall tallied 20 points for Penn State, which lost its first-ever game against a Patriot League team.

Duke 87, Colorado State 64 - Freshman Austin Rivers scored 17 points to help No. 7 Blue Devils beat up the visiting Rams (5-4). Duke (8-1), which was playing its first game since last week's lopsided loss at Ohio State, finished the game shooting 56 percent.

Louisville 90, IUPUI 60 - Chris Smith matched his personal best with 19 points to reach 1,000 for his career as No. 5 Cardinals whipped IUPUI 90-60 for their 16th straight victory at home. Gorgui Dieng hit all eight of his shots to set a career high with 18 points as the Cardinals started 8-0 for the second straight season. The Jaguars fell to 2-8.

Washington College 78, Swarthmore 68 - A three-point game at the half became a runaway for Shoremen as they ran over the visiting Garnet in Centennial Conference action. Swarthmore fell to 1-7, 1-3, while Washington improved to 4-3, 2-2.

Rosemont 74, Philadelphia Biblical University 59 - The visiting Crimson Eagles (2-6, 0-4) fell to the Ravens (5-3, 3-2) in Colonial States Athletic Conference at Rosemont.

Cabrini 101, Gwynedd-Mercy 91 - The Cavaliers remained undefeated with a win over host Gwynedd-Mercy in Colonial States Athletic Conference action. Cabrini improved to 6-0, 4-0 CSAC, while the Griffins fell to 5-3, 3-2.
