Strong start for Penn women

Baron scored 16 points and added 10 rebounds as the Quakers improved to 7-2. Penn will meet host San Diego State in the final today at 5 p.m.

In other women's games:

 * In the Dartmouth Tournamment, Alexis Scott scored 14 points and Ruvanna Campbell snagged 16 boards in La Salle's 60-47 win over Dartmouth. Jada Payne added 13 points for the Explorers (4-9), and Milica Toskovic led Dartmouth (2-9) with 11.

* In the Monmouth Tournament, Villanova notched a 55-44 upset of St. Bonaventure. Laura Sweeney led the Wildcats (10-2) with 16 points and Megan Pearson scored 14 off the bench. Doris Ortega paced the Bonnies (11-2) with 11 points.

* At Hagan Arena, Saint Joseph's celebrated a 74-57 rout of Boston College, led by 17 points from Michelle Baker. Kelly Cavallo added 14 for the Hawks (8-4) and Katie Zenevitch poured in a game-high 18 in the loss for BC (4-8).
