College Basketball: Seton Hall surprises UConn

Herb Pope added 15 points, and Fuquan Edwin and Aaron Cosby had 12 apiece as the Pirates (13-2, 2-1 Big East) beat Connecticut (12-2, 2-1) for the first time since March 3, 2001 - a span of 11 games. The win also snapped the Huskies' seven-game overall winning streak.

Ohio State 71, Nebraska 40 - Jared Sullinger had 19 points and 12 rebounds, and the No. 6 Buckeyes (14-2, 2-1 Big Ten) had little difficulty in their first game since a painful 74-70 defeat at No. 13 Indiana on Saturday.

Toney McCray had 13 points and Bo Spencer 10 for Nebraska (8-6, 0-3), which was playing its first Big Ten road game.

Louisville 73, St. John's 58 - Russ Smith scored 17 points and the No. 11 Cardinals (13-2, 1-1 Big East) beat the Red Storm (7-7, 1-2) in New York's Madison Square Garden.

 Kentucky 73, Arkansas-Little Rock 51 - Kentucky freshman Anthony Davis had 22 points and 16 rebounds, and the No. 2 Wildcats (14-1) overcame a slow start to top UALR (5-11) in Louisville.

Fordham 60, Harvard 54 - Bryan Smith scored 22 points, and Chris Gaston added 18 points and nine rebounds to lead the Rams (7-6) past the No. 22 Crimson (12-2) in New York. Bryan Curry led Harvard with 15 points. The win was the first for Fordham (7-6) over a ranked team since a 63-59 victory over then-No.19 Georgetown on Feb. 26, 1978.

Missouri 87, Oklahoma 49 - Kim English had 23 points and nine rebounds, and the No. 7 Tigers (14-0, 1-0) hit 12 three-pointers to open Big 12 play with a rout of visiting Oklahoma (10-3, 0-1).

Michigan State 63, Wisconsin 60 - Ryan Evans had an apparent game-tying three-pointer overturned on an officials' replay review, allowing the No. 10 Spartans (14-2, 3-0 Big Ten) to hold off the No. 18 Badgers (12-4, 1-2) in overtime. Jordan Taylor scored 28 points for host Wisconsin.

Khiry Hankins had 18 points and Angel Ayala added 17 points and 11 rebounds for Holy Family.

Roanoke 74, Swarthmore 48 - Jordan Federer scored 11 points but the Garnet (1-9) fell at Roanoke (4-7).

Gene Bartow, 81, who succeeded John Wooden at UCLA and later began the University of Alabama at Birmingham's athletic program, has died, UAB officials said. Bartow died Tuesday at his home in Birmingham, Ala., after a battle with stomach cancer.
