College Basketball: Harvard finishes sweep of Brown

Wright had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Harvard (22-3, 8-1), which used a 22-2 run in the first half to put this one out of reach early and solidify its standing atop the conference.

Harvard, which has won 10 of its last 11 games, led by 21 points at the break and outscored the Bears 32-26 in the second half to seal this contest. The Crimson outrebounded the Bears 40-23 and blocked 10 Brown shots on the night.

Sean McGonagill and Matt Sullivan had 11 points apiece to pace Brown (7-19, 1-8), which has lost six straight games beginning with a 68-59 defeat vs. Harvard on Jan. 28.

Princeton 77, Columbia 66 - Douglas Davis scored 20 points to lead the Tigers (14-10, 5-3 Ivy) to their third straight win, this time over the visiting Lions (14-11, 3-6).

Yale 70, Dartmouth 61 - The Bulldogs (17-6, 7-2 Ivy) kept their hold on second place in the conference with a road win over an unfortunate Big Green (4-21, 0-9).

'Nova's Wayns, Bell ailing

Villanova is likely to be without junior point guard Maalik Wayns and sophomore guard James Bell for Saturday's game at the Wells Fargo Center.

Wayns, who did not play against South Florida on Wednesday, has a sprained MCL in his left knee. Bell suffered a sprained ankle in Wednesday's game.

Purdue expels player

Purdue has kicked guard Kelsey Barlow off the team and suspended D.J. Byrd for a game after an incident at a West Lafayette, Ind., bar early Friday morning.

Police said that they were called to the bar just before 3 a.m. for a disturbance and that both Barlow and Byrd were at the bar at the time. Byrd was arrested by state police and spent five hours in jail.

Purdue did not say why Barlow had been dismissed from the team. Byrd will miss Sunday's home game against No. 7 Michigan State.

Cornell 45, Penn 42 - The Quakers fell to 9-13, 2-6 in the Ivy League after losing to their the Big Red (10-12, 4-4) in Ithaca, N.Y.
