Top honor for Swarthmore coach
Swarthmore's Karen Borbee was named the Centennial Conference coach of the year in women's lacrosse on Tuesday. Now completing her 19th season, the graduate of Penncrest High and the University of Delaware is a former member of the U.S. national team and is in the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

Swarthmore's Annalise Penikis and Caroline Murphy (both from Strath Haven High) were named first team all-conference, as was Ursinus' Alyssa Thren (Upper Perkiomen).
Philadelphia's Taylor Peltzer (Archbishop Wood) and Holy Family's Stephanie McNesby (Archbishop Ryan) were named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's lacrosse players of the week. Holy Family's Brianna Lancetta (Bishop Eustace) was named rookie of the week.
BASEBALL: An RBI single by freshman Kevin McMenamin (Maple Shade) in the bottom of the 10th gave Rowan a 7-6 victory over William Paterson in the first round of the New Jersey Athletic Conference tournament on Tuesday.
Marc Magliaro added three hits and two RBIs for the third-seeded Profs (29-11), who travel to second-seed Kean (29-10) on Thursday.
Shippensburg's Nick Umberger (Downingtown West) was named first team all-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. The senior led the PSAC in victories (8) and innings pitched (72.1). His 54 strikeouts were sixth in the league.
Ursinus' Brian Thomas retired after 23 years as head coach. Thomas, a Plymouth-Whitemarsh High grad who had the field dedicated in his honor on Saturday, led the Bears to three Centennial Conference titles and was the coach of the year in 2009.
He won more than 400 games with the Bears.
SOFTBALL: Lebanon Valley righthander Kristen Palmerio (Norristown), Arcadia outfielder Marissa Perez (Archbishop Ryan) and Elizabethtown utility player Julie Sebastian (Marple Newtown) were named first-team all-Commonwealth Conference.
ACADEMIC HONORS: Holy Family basketball players Ben Badeen and Lauren Peters (Central Bucks West) were named to the CACC all-Academic team for the third time each.
GOLF: Swarthmore's Jim Heller was been named the Centennial Conference coach of the year.
SQUASH: Drexel coach John White will be one of eight competitors at the the Pro Squash Tour's world championship at the Detroit Athletic Club this weekend.
White, a former Scottish National Champion, holds the world record for hitting the fastest shot during match play. His backhand was recorded at 172 m.p.h. His forehand was clocked at 171 m.p.h.
