Backup QB saves Buckeyes' bacon

With Ohio State's star quarterback Braxton Miller on the way to the hospital for evaluation, Kenny Guiton took his place and led the seventh-ranked Buckeyes (8-0, 4-0 Big Ten) to a tying touchdown and two-point conversion with three seconds left to force OT against Purdue (3-4, 0-3).

Guiton wasn't done. He then guided Ohio State into position for Carlos Hyde's 1-yard touchdown run that ended up as the difference in a heart-stopping, 29-22 win over the Boilermakers on Saturday in Columbus, Ohio.

"I'm still trying to figure that bad boy out," a stunned coach Urban Meyer said after the improbable victory. "We won, right?"

Asked if this was his most devastating loss at Purdue, coach Danny Hope responded, "You said that. No."

For Ohio State, however, it was a win for the ages.

"That will go down in the record books forever," said Buckeyes tight end Jeff Heuerman, who caught the tying two-point conversion pass. "There's no one more deserving than Kenny. I get chills thinking about it."

Michigan 12, Michigan State 10 - Brendan Gibbons made a 38-yard field goal with five seconds left, lifting the No. 23 Wolverines over the Spartans in Ann Arbor, Mich. The Wolverines (5-2, 3-0) beat the Spartans (4-4, 1-3) for the first time since 2007 to avoid a school-record, five-game losing streak in the series. It was the 900th win for Michigan, college football's winningest program.

Wisconsin 38, Minnesota 13 - James White raced 15 times through the Gophers defense for 175 yards rushing and three touchdowns, carrying the Badgers (6-2, 3-1) to a win in Madison, Wis., the ninth straight time the Badgers have beaten the Gophers (4-3, 0-3) to keep Paul Bunyan's Axe.

Nebraska 29, Northwestern 28 - Taylor Martinez threw for 342 yards and three TDs, and the Cornhuskers (5-2, 2-1) rallied to beat the Wildcats (6-2, 2-2) in Evanston, Ill.

Navy 31, Indiana 30 - Keenan Reynolds completed a 4-yard touchdown pass to Matt Aiken with 2 minutes, 2 seconds to play as the Midshipmen rallied past the Hoosiers (2-4, 0-3) in Annapolis, Md. It's the first time Navy (4-3) defeated a Big Ten opponent since 1979.
