College Basketball: Georgetown dispatches Texas, 64-41

Towns to Kentucky

High school center Karl Towns Jr., who plays for St. Joseph of Metuchen (N.J.) made an oral commitment to Kentucky, ESPN.com reported. The 6-foot-11 Towns said he intends to reclassify to the junior class and graduate a year earlier than expected.

Johnson to Penn State

Philadelphia native John Johnson has transferred to Penn State. The 6-1 guard, who played his high school ball at Girard College and Life Center Academy, played in all 39 contests for Pittsburgh last season as a true freshman. Johnson will be eligible to play next December.
