Millersville player is honored

Junior Andrew Dukes (Downingtown East) became the first Millersville men's soccer player to be named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division II all-Atlantic Region team in three consecutive seasons on Tuesday.

Junior Andrew Dukes (Downingtown East) became the first Millersville men's soccer player to be named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division II all-Atlantic Region team in three consecutive seasons on Tuesday.

The Millersville forward was named to the all-Atlantic Region second team in each of his first three years as a Marauder.

This season Dukes led the PSAC in assists (seven), was second on the team in points (19) and grabbed his third consecutive all-PSAC selection. The junior captain tallied a point in 63 percent of the Mauraders' games this year. Dukes currently sits in seventh place in program history in goals (24) and points (59).

Bloomsburg's Fran Miller (Central Bucks East) was named to the Division II all-Atlantic Region third team.

This was the third post-season award for Miller, who was a second-team all-PSAC selection, as well as a second-team Daktronics all-Atlantic Region team selection.

For the season, Miller finished with a career-high 10 goals, while adding four assists for a total of 24 points. The junior has moved into ninth place on the school's all-time assists list with 12.

Swarthmore's Peter Maxted was named to the Division III second team.

Rutgers-Camden freshman Mike Ryan (Cherokee) was named to the Division III third team.

Football. Two members of the Johns Hopkins football team - John Arena (St. Joseph's Prep) and Vincenzo Bonaddio (Garnet Valley) were named to the Academic all-American team.

Women's Basketball. Holy Family's Brady (Ocean City) was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference player of the week.
