College Basketball: It's Hoosiers' turn to sit atop the polls

The Hoosiers, the preseason No. 1 who held the top spot for the first five weeks of the regular season, moved up two places on Monday following their weekend win over No. 1 Michigan and No. 2 Kansas' loss to Oklahoma State.
Florida jumped two spots to second, while Michigan fell to third. They were followed by Duke, Kansas, Gonzaga, Arizona, Miami, Syracuse and Ohio State.
Syracuse 63, Notre Dame 47 - C.J. Fair had 18 points and 10 rebounds as the ninth-ranked Orange (19-3, 7-2 Big East) pounded the No. 25 Fighting Irish (18-5, 6-4) in Syracuse, N.Y.
Honors. Temple guard Khalif Wyatt (Norristown) was named Atlantic Ten co-player of the week. . . . St. Joseph's guard Carl Jones was named the Philadelphia Big Five player of the week.

Penn State 69, Purdue 61 - Maggie Lucas (Germantown Academy) had 17 points to lead the No. 8 Nittany Lions (18-3, 8-1 Big Ten) past the No. 13 Boilermakers (18-4, 7-2) in State College, Pa.
Local: Nina Voith (Germantown Friends) had 14 points to lead Haverford (14-7, 11-6 Centennial Conference) to a 69-40 win over host Bryn Mawr (1-19, 0-16). . . . Swarthmore's Katie Lytle had 15 points and 16 rebounds, but the Garnet (16-5, 12-4 CC) fell, 66-52, to visiting McDaniel (10-12, 7-10).
Honors. West Chester forward Alexandra Lennon (Shipley School) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division athlete of the week.
