Wyatt named Big 5 player of the week

Temple guard Khalif Wyatt was named the Big 5 men's basketball player of the week on Monday.

The 6-foot-4 senior averaged 17 points and three assists as the Owls (5-0) went 2-0 last week with victories over Buffalo and Wagner.  His best game was Saturday's 70-62 win over Wagner at the Liacouras Center.

Shooting 9 for 16, Wyatt scored a season-best 26 points. He recorded seven of the Owls' final 12 points. Wyatt also made 3 of 5 three-pointers and had three assists and a steal in 34 minutes.

Penn junior guard Alyssa Baron was named the Big 5 women's player of the week.
