In his long tenure at the helm of the football program before he was fired Nov. 9, former coach Joe Paterno preached his "Grand Experiment," which consisted of success in the classroom as well as on the football field. Penn State, the NAF analysis says, graduates 80 percent of its student-athletes in six years or less and shows no disparity between the accomplishments of its white and African-American football players.
