Their nonconference schedules have been out for a while, but after the Atlantic Ten released its conference games Wednesday afternoon, the schedules for La Salle and St. Joseph's are now complete.

The Hawks' problem last season was injuries. La Salle's was defense. SJU started 7-5 and finished 4-15 for an 11-20 record. La Salle had its very good moments but not enough of them and finished 15-15.

League play begins on Dec. 30, with La Salle hosting St. Louis at Gola Arena and St. Joe's going to George Washington. The Big Five rivals play each other Feb 3 at Gola and March 3 at Hagan Arena, the last game of the regular season. The A-10 tournament will be held in Washington at Capital One Arena (formerly Verizon Center).

La Salle opens at home against St. Peter's on Nov. 11 and plays Penn two nights later at the Palestra. Nonconference highlights include a game with Villanova at the Wells Fargo Center, a drive to Reading to play Miami and its star freshman Lonnie Walker (Reading High) and a trip to Mohegan Sun in Connecticut for the Hall of Fame Tipoff where the Explorers will play Northwestern in the first round.

St. Joe's opens on the road at Toledo on Nov. 11 and plays defending Ivy League champion Princeton at home a week later. The Hawks play Villanova at Hagan Arena, against St. John's at Mohegan Sun and in the Wooden Legacy Classic (Fullerton, Calif.) over the Thanksgiving weekend where they will play Washington State in the first round.
