About the Badgers: Run the nation's most efficient offense (1.23 points per possession). Lead the nation in fewest turnovers and fewest fouls ... Defense is vulnerable to teams with quick guards who can get to the rim off the dribble. Two of its losses were to Duke and Maryland, which are drive-to-the-rim teams ... Kaminsky is the country's most efficient offensive player. He can play inside, outside, pass and rebound. His shooting numbers have reached the rarified air of 55/75/40 — percentages from the field, the line and the arc. He can board, dish (2.6 assists), block shots (1.6) and steal (1.0). (DJ)

About the Wildcats: The Wildcats have held 77 of their last 79 foes under 80 points ... The Pac-12 regular-season champs reached the tourney final for the fourth time in 5 years ... Wildcats entered the Pac-12 Tourney second in the country in free-throw attempts (810), second in free throws made (564), third in rebound differential (8.7) and third in scoring margin (17.7) ... McConnell is in the top 15 nationally in assists and assist-to-turnover ratio ... Wildcats get 22.8 ppg off their bench and are 22-0 when their bench outscores their opponents' ... About the Bears: This is their ninth NCAA appearance, but their first ever in an odd year ... Drew has guided five of those teams, including a pair that lost in the regional finals ... He deploys a team-first, pass-heavy scheme that spreads the scoring and has Baylor first in the Big 12 and 23rd nationally with an assist rate of 61.6%. All that passing has led to good looks for shooters, as they led the conference by shooting 38.7% from the arc ... Gathers' father was a cousin of Hank Gathers ... Prince changed his uniform number from 35 to 21 in honor of former teammate and current student assistant Isaiah Austin, who was diagnosed with Marfan syndrome before last year's NBA draft. (SC)

Theo Pinson, G, 6-6, Fr., 3.2, 3.4, 37.9, 62.5

About the Tar Heels: Paige is the next in a long line of great Carolina point guards. His mom, Sherryl, was a high school coach in Iowa for 20 years and his sister, Morgan, was a 1,000-point scorer who graduated from Wisconsin last year. Through the regular season Paige had made more three-pointers (74) than the rest of the Carolina squad combined (69) ... Paige and Tokoto each deal about four assists a game ... Tokoto is named after his grandfather, a renowned soccer player in Cameroon ... Johnson was a teammate of Nerlens Noel in various postseason high school All-Star games in 2012. (EB)

Manuale Watkins, G, 6-3, So., 2.9, 2.3, 61.7, 70.8

About the Razorbacks: Portis is among the SEC leaders in just about every pertinent category for big men as the Hogs have posted their best season since the glory days of the mid-1990s. One of the stars of those teams, big man Corliss Williamson, coached Portis when Portis was in second grade ... Madden led the team in scoring last year and will finish his career in the top five in program history in assists ... Beard has drawn more than a dozen charges. Not bad for a freshman ... Anderson has never had a losing season. He took UAB to the Sweet 16 in 2004 and Missouri to the Elite 8 in 2009. This is first trip with Arkansas. (EB)

About the Musketeers: Led Big East in scoring (74.7) and field-goal percentage (47.7%) ... Were among national leaders in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.38) ... Stainbrook is one of 10 finalists for the Senior CLASS Award, which stands for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School. He scored 676 points in two seasons at Western Michigan before transferring ... Dee Davis was among the national leaders in assists (6.2) and free-throw percentage ... Bluiett was the top scoring freshman in the Big East ... Lost a bunch of close games. Almost never loses when it scores 70 ... Justin Tillman, F, 6-7, Fr., 4.0, 2.6, 54.6, 51.7

About the Rams: The preseason A-10 favorites were longshots when the tournament began, but won four games in 4 days ... Rams were 17-4 when point guard Briante Weber, who was about to set the career record for steals, went down with a season-ending knee injury late in the Jan. 31 loss to Richmond. He was the key to their "Havoc" defense. Finished 5-5 in the regular season without him ... Right after Weber got hurt, Graham, their other senior star, hurt an ankle and was way off form down the stretch. He got it back with 69 points in four tournament games. (DJ)

About the Ducks: The Ducks came away with the Pac-12 Coach of the Year (Altman) and Player of the Year (Young) ... Young is the fourth Duck to be named Pac-12 Player of the Year. The other three (Ron Lee, Terrell Brandon and Luke Ridnour) were all guards and all played in the NBA ... The Ducks have won 20 games for the fifth straight year, a program first ... Altman has had 18 straight winning seasons (five at Oregon, 13 at Creighton) ... Young, who set the program record for points in two seasons, is the Pac-12 career free-throw leader (89.5%) ... The Ducks won 11 of their last 13 regular-season games, seeing their RPI jump from 161 in December to 29 entering the Pac-12 Tourney. (MP)

Leyton Hammonds, F, 6-7, So., 2.3, 0.8, 34.9, 50.0

About the Cowboys: Their 2004 Elite Eight win over a Jameer Nelson-led St. Joseph's squad still cuts deep on Hawk Hill ... Nash works well as a slasher who can get to the rim and the line (7.0 free-throw attempts per game), but is shy from long range (2-for-18 from the arc) and is closing in on 100 turnovers for the season ... Forte (40.6%) and Hickey (40%) take and make most of the threes ... There's a lot of inexperience to bring off the bench in an NCAA pressure-cooker ... Although Ford failed to latch on in the NBA after a stellar career at Kentucky, he did land the role of Danny O'Grady in the movie "The Sixth Man." Don't feel bad, we don't remember it, either. (SC)

Trey McDonald, C, 6-8, Sr., 2.8, 2.6, 53.7, 53.6

About the Buckeyes: They were offensively challenged last season. Enter Russell, the combo guard with everything. He is going to finish his first and last college season with more than 600 points, 175 rebounds, 150 assists and 50 steals. The lefty shoots 42% from the arc. He does absolutely everything effortlessly. He makes it look easy because he sees the game in slow motion. Look for him very high in the NBA lottery ... Loving can drill it from the arc (47%), but he picks his spots (3.3 three-point attempts a game) ... Scott is the son of Charles Scott, the first black player at North Carolina and one of Dean Smith's very best. (DJ)

Frank Bartley, G, 6-3, So., 2.4, 1.7, 37.7, 62.5

About the Cougars: Have become a tournament mainstay under Rose, making it into the dance for eight of his 10 seasons with the program ... Their offensive scheme is predicated on getting to the rim and getting opponents in foul trouble, as BYU has the most made free throws in the nation and the fifth-best free-throw percentage (76.8) ... BYU also scores the second-most points per game (83.6) ... Collinsworth tied an NCAA record with six triple-doubles this season ... Kaufusi's father Steve, a defensive line coach for the BYU football team, was drafted in the 12th round by the Eagles in 1988. He did not make the team. (SC)

Terence Smith, G, 6-4, Sr., 4.1, 1.3, 40.0, 73.7

About the Rebels: Moody is among the leaders nationally in free-throw shooting. He was born the same day (Oct. 6, 1993) as the Kim Batiste game when the Phillies beat the Braves in the NLCS opener ... The Rebels have won 20 games seven times in Kennedy's 9 years, the same number as in the previous 96 years before he arrived in Oxford ... Best wins are at Oregon and at Arkansas; lost to Western Kentucky and Charleston Southern ... Summers is the SEC's active leader in career points with more than 1,600. If you knew John Stroud (1977-80) is Ole Miss' all-time leading scorer (2,320 points), you probably have a Confederate flag somewhere in your basement. (EB)
