Penn drops Binghamton, 79-70

The Quakers jumped out to an early lead and went ahead, 40-34, at the half. Nick Madray made two straight three-pointers to pull the Bearcats to within 50-47 with 14 minutes, 39 seconds remaining.

Penn pulled away again but Binghamton's Dusan Pervoic drove for a layup and Yosef Yacob added two free throws to close it to 69-66 with 5 minutes, 36 seconds left. Hicks and Nelson-Henry answered with a layup apiece to stretch the lead to 73-66.

The Quakers grabbed 43 rebounds while limiting the Bearcats to 30 boards.

Antonio Woods and Darnell Foreman had 11 points apiece and Matt Howard chipped in 10 for Penn (2-5). The Quakers also picked up 24 points in the paint, compared with 12 for Binghamton (1-8).

Perovic had 16 points for the Bearcats.
