Trio of Penn players leaving men's basketball team

According to The Daily Pennsylvanian, sophomore guard Julian Harrell and junior forward Henry Brooks are no longer part of the Penn basketball program.

This comes just a day after it was reported that freshman point guard Tony Bagtas was given his release.

More from the DP:

A day after it was confirmed that freshman point guard Tony Bagtas was given his release from the program, sophomore guard Julian Harrell received permission to seek a transfer from Penn basketball, according to Harrell's instagram.

Penn Athletic Communications Director Mike Mahoney also confirmed that junior forward Henry Brooks was no longer with the program, although it appears Brooks is staying at Penn for his senior year. In total, three members of last year's Penn squad have left the program since the season ended on March 11.

Harrell posted a letter he received from Penn's Athletic Compliance Coordinator Melissa Boettger that said Penn granted Harrell permission to "discuss continuing his participation in intercollegiate athletics with an institution of his choosing." Coach Jerome Allen was cc'd on the letter.
