Penn State has received its first oral commitment for the Class of 2019 from someone in its own backyard, getting a pledge from 6-foot, 170-pound cornerback Keaton Ellis of State College Area High School.

Ellis, who is rated three stars by Scout, also received offers from Syracuse and Buffalo. Scout ranked him as the East's No. 1 cornerback among the 2019 class.

"I feel I have a very strong connection with the PSU coaching staff," Ellis said in announcing his commitment on Twitter.
