Nine Penn State players to participate in all-star games

Six Nittany Lions will play in games on Saturday, five of them in the East-West Shrine Game and one in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.

A total of nine Penn State players will participate this month in post-season all-star games, with six of them competing Saturday.

Five Nittany Lions – linebacker Jason Cabinda, defensive tackles Curtis Cothran (Council Rock North) and Parker Cothren, cornerback Grant Haley and wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton – will play for the East squad in the annual East-West Shrine Game on Saturday at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Safety Troy Apke also will be competing Saturday in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.

On Jan. 27, safety Marcus Allen, cornerback Christian Campbell and tight end Mike Gesicki will be participants in the Reese's Senior Bowl at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala.

The East-West and Senior Bowl games will be televised by NFL Network, while the Collegiate Bowl will air on Fox Sports 1.
