Freshman forward Taylor Funk of St. Joseph's was named Atlantic 10 rookie of the week after averaging 22.5 points in two games.

The 6-foot-9 Funk scored a career-high 23 points in Saturday's win over Princeton in the Hawks' home opener, shooting 7-of-8 from the field and 5-of-6 from three-point range. Earlier in the week, he scored 22 points, including the three-point basket that sent the game into overtime, in a win at Illinois-Chicago.

Funk, whose 61 points in his first three collegiate games is second on the Hawks' all-time list behind Bernard Blunt, shot 69 percent (16-of-23) from the field and 64 percent (9-of-14) in two games last week.
