St. Joe's to play Irish in tourney

St. Joseph's will face Notre Dame in the 2012 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic on Nov. 16 at the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Brigham Young will take on Florida State in the first game, at 7 p.m.

St. Joseph's will face Notre Dame in the 2012 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic on Nov. 16 at the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Brigham Young will take on Florida State in the first game, at 7 p.m.

The consolation and championship games are set for Nov. 17, with the

consolation game starting at 7 p.m., followed by the title game. All four games of the tournament will be televised on truTV.

This will be only the second meeting between the Hawks and Notre Dame; the first took place on Dec. 29, 1992.

St. Joseph's is serving as one of the regional hosts for the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic and will begin play in the tournament by hosting Yale in a regional round game at Hagan Arena on Nov. 12.

Tickets for the games at the Barclays Center can be purchased at CvCClassic.com or BarclaysCenter.com. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
