Saint Joseph's announces nonconference men's basketball schedule

Hawks’ home opener is against Marist Nov. 13.

IN ADDITION to its 16-game Atlantic 10 schedule that will be announced in the coming weeks, Saint Joseph's will play 14 nonconference games. Villanova, as it was two seasons ago, will be at Hagan Arena as one of seven SJU noncon home games.

St Joe's opener is on Nov. 9 at Vermont. Creighton and its Player of the Year candidate Doug McDermott will be on Hawk Hill. Drexel also will be at Hagan. The Hawks will be at Temple (no longer in the A-10, remember) and play Penn at the Palestra.

The Hawks will play three games in Orlando on Thanksgiving weekend in the Old Spice Classic at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. SJU starts with LSU and either Memphis or Siena in the second round. Butler, Oklahoma State, Purdue and Washington State are also in the field.

Marist, Loyola, Boston University, Binghamton and Denver are the other Hawks nonconference games.
