Florida forward chooses Temple

Anthony Lee was under the college scouts' radar until last summer, when offers started pouring in for the 6-foot-9 basketball forward, who is in his senior year at West Oaks Academy in Orlando, Fla.
Upon hearing from Southern Cal, Georgetown, Seton Hall, Boston College, and Mississippi, among others, Lee chose Temple after considering the relationship he had already established with the Owls' coaching staff.
Lee made an oral commitment to the Owls over the weekend while in town on a recruiting visit.
"They reached out to me early in the recruiting process, and that stayed in my mind," Lee said.
Last season, while playing at Eustis High in Orlando, Fla., Lee averaged 14.8 points and 13.8 rebounds.
One reason Lee liked Temple was coach Fran Dunphy's free-flowing offensive system, which the player said suited him well.
He expects to see time at both forward positions.
"I see myself as an outside and inside player, and I think Coach Dunphy's offense will allow me to do that," Lee said. "I can be a matchup problem for teams trying to guard me. I love the offensive system, and I feel I can make an immediate impact."
Lee is the first member of Temple's 2010 recruiting class. Dunphy has one scholarship left. (An article in Sunday's editions that said no scholarships remained was incorrect.)
