College Basketball: Temple women topped by Duke

Karima Christmas tied a season high with 20 points to help No. 3-ranked Duke beat Temple, 71-64, Thursday night in Durham, N.C.

Jasmine Thomas added 13 points for the Blue Devils, who improved to 13-0 for the fourth time in program history. Shay Selby and Krystal Thomas each had 12 points for Duke.

Qwedia Wallace scored 21 points to lead the Owls (7-6), who were up, 31-30, at halftime. Satoria Bell tied a season high with 16 points for Temple, and Shey Peddy contributed 10 points.

Duke, which trailed at halftime for only the second time all season, scored the first eight points of the second half.

The Owls twice cut the deficit to two points, but the Blue Devils responded with an 11-2 run midway through the second half to take a 51-40 lead with 81/2 minutes remaining.

Baylor 101, Texas-Pan American 55 - Brittney Griner scored 21 points and second-ranked Baylor (13-1) wrapped up its nonconference schedule in Waco, Texas, with its 10th consecutive victory.

Georgetown 75, Clemson 54 - Sugar Rodgers matched her season high with 28 points and Rubylee Wright scored a career-best 16 as the No. 19 Hoyas (12-3) defeated the Tigers (6-8) in Washington for their fifth straight win.

Penn State 68, Iowa 59 - Alex Bentley scored 19 points and Penn State used a 12-1 run over 31/2 minutes to rally from a seven-point deficit and beat No. 14 Iowa in State College.

Zhaque Gray scored 14 points for Penn State and Nikki Greene had 10 rebounds and five blocks.

Tennessee 87, Rutgers 51 - Taber Spani, with 22 points, was one of five Tennessee players scoring in double digits as the No. 5 Vols (12-2) routed the Scarlet Knights in Knoxville, Tenn.

April Sykes led Rutgers (7-6) with 15 points.

Notre Dame 91, Loyola Marymount 47 - Freshman Kayla McBride scored 20 points in a reserve role and the No. 16 Irish shot well, defeating the Lions in the Seattle University Holiday Tournament.

Central Florida 68, Princeton 62 - Marcus Jordan scored 22 of his 26 points in the second half to help the No. 19 Knights (13-0) rally to win the UCF Holiday Classic in Orlando.

The son of NBA star Michael Jordan scored nine straight points for the hosts early in the second half to wipe out a 37-29 halftime deficit.

Dan Mavraides scored 20 points and Ian Hummer added 19 for Princeton (10-4).

Lehman 63, Rutgers-Camden 53 - Jonathan DeJesus scored 16 points and Samuel Batista added 15 to help the Lightning (6-5) defeat the Scarlet Raptors (1-8) in a nonconference game in New York City.

Rutgers-Camden's Shawn Greene, a Lenape High graduate, scored a game-high 19 points.
