Temple women lose to Duke on road

Qwedia Wallace scored 21 points to lead Temple. Satoria Bell had 16 and Sheylani Peddy added 10 for the Owls (7-6), who led, 31-30, at the half. They failed to score in the first 5 1/2 minutes after intermission, as Duke (13-0) went ahead for good on an 8-0 run. The Devils' lead reached 11.

Jasmine Thomas (13 points), Krystal Thomas and Shay Selby (12 each) chipped in for Duke, which registered 11 blocked shots.

* At New York, Lindsay Kimmel and Laura Sweeney scored 15 points each to lead Villanova (7-6) to a 47-44 victory over Yale in the championship game of the Fordham Holiday Classic. Megan Vasquez had 12 points for Yale (3-9).

* At San Diego, Kamile Nacickaite had 16 points and nine rebounds to lead Drexel to a 64-37 victory over Texas-San Antonio in the consolation game of the Surf N' Slam Tournament. Taylor Wootton added 13 points for the Dragons (8-3). *
