Zach Smith has resigned as Temple's wide receivers/special teams coach to become the wideouts coach at Ohio State.

This move enabled Smith to reunite with new Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer.

Smith spent five seasons working under Meyer at Florida before spending the 2010 season at Marshall. He went to Temple last year when Steve Addazio, who also coached at Florida, became Temple's head coach.

"I'm very happy and supportive of Zach Smith's new opportunity at Ohio State," Addazio said in a statement. "He grew up in Columbus. And as the grandson of former Ohio State coach Earle Bruce, he is a lifelong Buckeye fan.

"I thank Zach for his contributions to Temple football this year and wish Zach and his family the best."
