Owls mourn Mirabella, 23

MIKE MIRABELLA, a member of the Temple crew team from 2009-13 died on Tuesday after a long bout with cancer. He was 23.

"All of Temple athletics is saddened by this tragic loss," said men's crew coach Dr. Gavin White. "Mike was an outstanding young man, who was not only a tremendous rower, but someone who loved life and gave of himself to others."

Mirabella, a native of Galloway, N.J., was a member of the varsity 8 his final three seasons, helping the Owls win numerous gold medals.
